About this Edition
The key European book event, the Leipziger Buchmesse (LBM for short), will return alongside the Manga-Comic-Con and the Leipzig liest reading festival from 18 to 21 March 2027. Leipziger Messe will host the global book community, including over 2,000 exhibitors, 313,000 attendees, 55,000 trade visitors, and over 3,800 journalists taking part in the 81st edition of LBM and discover the emerging industry trends.
The Leipziger Buchmesse 2027 will maintain its leading role, showcasing the latest literature, offering opportunities for product and trend discovery, building valuable connections, and inspiring through in-person meetings. Over 80% of all attendees are expected to be private visitors and almost 20% professionals, all looking for inspiration, new products and upcoming releases. Well-established and emerging companies from 50 countries will present a broad range of products and solutions spanning over 17,400 m² of exhibition area, meet a diverse audience of potential buyers, and establish strong connections with other experts. The comprehensive product overview will be organised into Book Art & Graphics, Art Schools, Digital World: Audio, Film & Media, Fiction and Non-Fiction, International, Kids, and more.
Over 3,100 side events will draw the audience’s attention, offering networking and learning opportunities beyond product discovery. The Country Guest of Honour, yet to be announced, will engage visitors in a unique cultural and literary experience. The Leipzig Book Award for European Understanding will be among the highlights.
